9nce for play with MXL and once for vanilla. Just so we're clear, I mean u need to have D2 installed twice. Thank you for your help, I appreciate it! I'll have to go ahead and do the reinstall then and remember to put mxl in a different folder. Before mxl there were other D2 mods and all u had to do is swap the patch_d2.mpq back to the original if u wanted to play vanilla but it doesn't work in this case. So what you wanna do is have MXL in 1 location and then install D2 in a different location and it keep completely separate from mxl. If u save a copy if your patch_d2.mpq and just overwrite your mxl version when u wanna play later, it corrupts both of them. One is Vanilla LoD and the other is after Median XL install. Here are a couple images of my diablo II folders. I'm at work so I cant send a screen of it. U dont see a d2.dll file at all? Because that's basically the entire game. So is there another file I'm supposed to replace? Do you know what the exact file name is? I notice that it replaces the Game.exe file and if I switch that out, diablo II Crashes. I already have 2 copies installed, so I can just use the d2.dll file from the other install right? The file isn't what binds the CD Key to the game, is it?Įdit, I don't see a D2.dll file. In theory, u should be able to swap from median and D2 if u swap the. Now the only way is to delete the whole thing, reinstall D2 & LoD then save a copy of the dll file somewhere else before installing median.
U need to have saved the original one from the D2 download before installing media.
I don't want to delete Median XL, I am trying figure out how to just switch between the two easily whenever I like. To go back to classic LoD, swap it back! It is that simple! To install the mod, you need to swap out one file.
